The African Cultural Trademark

Let’s talk of the African Cultural trademark. There is an Attraction Syndrome hovering around the world, Countries are attracting other countries; Continents are attracting other continents. A country or continent’s resources will determine who it attracts. The more attractive a continent is, the more attractive its culture becomes. It’s no wonder then that American culture is so popular.

Culture, as defined, is the characteristics and knowledge of a particular group of people, defined by everything from language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music and arts.
Every continent has its CULTURAL TRADE MARK that distinguishes them and establishes each one’s uniqueness.

The Africa Continent is known to have a rich culture from language, religion, cuisine, social habits, apparel, music and arts.This uniqueness attracted the Western world for common trade then gradually turned into Colonial Rule. Time has permitted Africans to fight for freedom nevertheless; we are still heavily influenced by the western culture. The young African accommodates the Western culture the most while theirs is left in ruins.
What will young people of today continue to do? Will we allow our unique culture to get lost while embracing western culture or we will use our knowledge and skills to redefine our culture and make it more attractive?
